I wrote this song twelve years ago while living in the laundry room of my friend’s basement. I am still working on it... There are seeds in our world today.
lyrics
Growing hatred, fear and bitterness.
Lovers of money, ourselves and fame,
Drinking the poison of our selfishness.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself....
Do good to those who hate you,
your reward is waiting...
Giving our tongues to the serpent’s lie,
Selling our souls, for a one way ride.
The lightning’s flashing and it’s in your eyes,
Behold the King of love is coming, coming from the sky.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself....
Do good to those who hate you, your reward is waiting...
There’s a man lying half way dead,
He’s been beaten and abused and they’ve
stolen his threads,
While a priest and a lawyer they just walked on by.
They left him in that ditch,
they left him there to die.
But a man not too far from Samaria,
takes the man and aids his wounds
and shows the love of God.
Love the Lord thy God with all your
heart and mind,
Love the Lord thy God with all your
soul and strength...
Love your neighbor as you love yourself...
I said, do good to those who hate you,
your reward is waiting... in heaven.
